http://www.livableplaces.org/development/lincolnheights.html I have been looking for the name of this development that I drove by last weekend, and finally found the name. It is an attractive affordable condo along the gold line route at Ave 26. I am happy that Mayor Villaraigosa is working with the developers on this. We need continued efforts to have affordable housing in Los Angeles.

This is the first post submission for this blog which covers attraction and items of interest for the communities just northeast of downtown LA. With the Los Angeles Metro Rail Gold Line, there is easier transit from Downtown to Lincoln Park, Highland Park and Pasadena. But today I wanted to talk about Monterey Park.
I was looking for a place to take traditional irish clog dancing. My journey took me to MELODY RANCH CLOGGERS at George Elder Park in Monterey Park. It wasn't quite what I expected, but it looked like alot of fun. It was clog dancing in the tradition of America (not Irish clog dancing). The music ranged from jazz to spanish, carribean to classical. It is at a rec-senior center fairly easy to find off of the 60 fwy. It is posted at http://www.sccaclogger.com/classes/stevens.html . Reggie Stevens teaches the class and he listed his phone number as (626) 338-1838. The class is on Thursday and is an intermediate level, but call to make sure.
